Re: RMS Titanic of the White Star Line

Well the colours are pretty much the same. (Note to self, if building a big ship in my spare time, don't use those colours for the funnels - could be unlucky!).

Wow, have you looked at the images that are shown on the front page of their website, the ones towards the bottom of the page? Those mosaic sonar shots are stunning. Just look at the ones taken directly above the wreck. Stunning images, just compare the above shots of the bow - which looks almost totally normal, could almost be a google earth shot of one of the ships on the beach at Alang, to the shots taken from above the stern section, the destruction to the stern really stands out. And then the higher altitude image from above showing both the stern, the bow, and the debris field in between. I never realised that the two main sections were that far apart.

And the video is eerily stunning. That anchor chain looks almost brand new. So hard to believe she's been sitting down there for over 100 years. It is almost like looking back in time.

But have a look about 2 mins into the video (can't give exact timing because it's that awful flash player), have a look at that windlass that comes into view - look on the forward casing of it. Am i the only one, or can anyone else see the outline of a face starring out of it? I have looked a couple of times and each time i see a face - spooky.

The face! Looks like it's got a beard.

At the Cité de la mer in Cherbourg I saw an exhibition about Titanic and the theme of european emigration to America. The concept consists in showing the travel of Titanic from Cherbourg to the place of the accident. Using audio and video guides we are in situation to live at certain hours and certain days as passagers of first, second and third classes.
Here are some photos I took.
