I have been genuinely fascinated by ghost ships after seeing a few pictures of them. They have an aura of post-apocalypse about them that i find very interesting. The other day I stubled across this picture of the TSS Duke of Lancaster:

    Borrowed from this page

Another fascination, although much sadder is what happened to the SS America:

Are there other ships you'd like to add? What do you think?

This thread has me wondering if there are any ships remaining that formed a breakwater off the coast of Normandy for the Allied invasion. I assume some of the concrete Mulberries remain, or were they removed after the war to clean the beach?

It looks as if they are still there, at least at Arromanches, Dane. See here If you then click on Home "A Message for 2010" at the left, it tells you more, showing that tours were available 2009/2010.
As a schoolgirl, my class went on a holiday to France in 1946, staying at a convent in Bayeux, and apart from the obvious visit to the tapestry, Arromanches and Port-en-Bessin were other visits we made. I'm so glad we went, it was all so fresh in our minds then and I remember being really awestruck (in the original meaning of the word) at what I was seeing.

Me too - as well as abandoned properties ashore!

I'm sure you have seen quite a few videos on youtube of various ghost-ships?
