Bankskoyta got honoured during the Kysten Festival: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/2017/07/23...ick_articles=1

BTW; The Dutch veteran boat I posted about in the Veteran thread had just visited Kristiansund, but didn't know about this festival, otherwise he may have stayed for the event.

It's a pitty about that Dutch guy, would have liked to see him (the boat) in Kristiansund.
Didn't know that he visited though, because I've seem to have lost my "Rolls-Royce" AIS, so I'm stuck with Marine Traffic only....

AWESOME images Sterkoder - we must have been walking the docks at the same time without spotting eachother last Saturday.

I parked at the shipyard and walked to and from town along those docks - all the way out to see the Crystal Symphony!

I will show you some pictures tomorrow!

The absolute favourite boat is actually two boats: Værdalen and the lifeboat of 1947. The atmposphere that day was truly memorable with beautiful weather and lots of people.

Kristiansund showed herself fro mthe best side possible....

Ohhh... yes, the red fire boat which you also photogrpahed - did you notice that truly splendid bow? Not everyday you see a bow like that - beauitful.

Got to go see the Crystal Symphony video and edit and upload my own pictures from that day.

Oh, you were in town. Pitty I didn't know. My family and I walked up and down for hours Saturday, out on the pontoons and up to the benches on the quay to grab a beer.
Really look forward to see your pictures :-)

Darn... I promised to show you the pictures the following day - and now, several days later, I haven't managed to post them yet.... I guess life intervened AGAIN!

They are on the way - please know that I have not forgotten all about it!

I know I promised Sterkoder some images from my impromptu trip to Kristiansund recently, but then we got busy with the forum upgrade.

Anyway, without any further delay - here are some moments in time from that wonderful visit: veteran vessel "Fangst" (meaning "the catch")....

My favourite that day was undoubtedly this vessel - much because I had only seen it a handful number of times at a dock in Trondheim and at the Kvithylla Shipyard outside Trondheim:

                VÆRDALEN:

From the inner harbour, I pretty much got the same images as Sterkoder did...

                  Former rescue vessel RAGNHILD SCHANCHE:

Another beautiful veteran that really caught my attention was the former fireboat (?) SLUKK ... much because of that truly stunning bow!

The MK EGIL was for sale - I think the asking price was 300.000NOK.... just in case you are up for something wooden that needs a lot of care and maintenance:

                          Great images, Jan-Olav.
What is strange is that we could very well have passed each other in the crown. Never mind. When the boats sailed past the audience that Saturday, I stood near the speaker on the outermost spot of Piren.

I thought about that too - we could have walked by each other without even noticing, or we could have been really close to each other.

I was on the lookout for a friend of mine from Crystal Symphony that day - he had gone ashore and I really wanted to catch up. Therefore, I actively "scanned" the crowds of people. Sadly, I didn't see you!

                              It's quite ok, my friend.
We have a "habit" of passing each other by just a few meters (or a little more then), with reference to that picture you took at Værnes Airshow 2014.
You took a great general view of the display area, and who showed up in the middle of the picture? The Sterkoder family of three :-) I'm smiling just thinking about it.
