More and more ships rely totally on electronic charts and GPS. Is that smart?: https://gcaptain.com/double-ecdis-fa...8c4e-169863069

I tried that link and had a 404 error, but a very amusing one!

Had another try but with the same result. However, I got through to the home page and read an interesting article suggesting that, as final back-up, seamen get to know a few stars and the use of a se.xtant. Plain common sense? Oooh no, can't have any of that!

Won't work Ombugge! Our system puts *** where it doesn't like part of the string of letters. The Bit.ly link in my post overcomes that, and should still go to where you were pointing us to!

Thanks Mark. I should have seen the ***
***tant is a dangerous word to brand around.

Yeah, that filter does actually create more confusion than it creates politeness... :-)
