    Our solar system

    Dear friends,

If I may steal just a handful of minutes of your day... this is the one video you should see today. I just simply love it...

It's called WANDERER and was uploaded to vimeo.com

Just read an article in Norwegian paper that baffles me slightly.... people blatantly refuse to believe in life on any other planet anywhere else other than the earth.

We are humans, we are the only ones and we know EVERYTHING about space, other planets, solar systems.... and so on!

But now, scientists have found a "super-earth" 2,5 times our size - about 180 light-years away. Which we knew absolutely nothing about a year ago. Seems like we didn't quite know everything after all. So far, the planet has received the official name of "HIP 116454b"...... and it's located "near enough" to be explored. It's the Kepler space-explorer that found this gigantic super earth.

So far, the Kepler spacecraft have also found near 1.000 confirmed planets similar to earth, and a whopping 3.200 other candidates.

Yet, we still completely refuse to believe there are "others"....

The "good news" about HIP 116454b is that it is quite possibly too hot for life (as we know it).

That was enough from the geek-corner of mine today.

In Norway, children are told about small, green men coming down in spaceships from above. Could this be...?

I think this cool video by Wylie Overstreet and Alex Gorosh is awesome.... the size of our solar system is unthinkable!

WHY haven't we seen more about this SPECTACULAR NEWS?

          http://www.natgeobloggen.no/2015/10/...tisk-struktur/

By the help of the Keppler probe, astronomers have identified / seen a GIGANTIC OBJECT orbiting a star in OUR SOLAR SYSTEM, the Milky Way.

Could it be dust? What is it?

Scientists have - according to this article - discovered a new planet that is so big, they are not sure it's actually not a planet after all.

Interesting indeed.... imagine not finding it before. It's like not seeing the forest for the trees. LOL

Even if you have only cursory knowledge of the planets in our Solar System, you know that Earth is on the smaller end of the spectrum in terms of mass. Mercury and Mars are even smaller, but Saturn and the mighty Jupiter, of course, are on the other end of the spectrum.

How exciting - from outside of our solar system:
Astronomers Want to Send a Probe to That Interstellar Asteroid, But There's a Catch

It's not every day that an asteroid from outside the Solar System comes whizzing past your front door. In fact, it's only ever happened once that we've observed, when astronomers spotted interstellar asteroid 'Oumuamua in October.
