Stories, facts and information from Pont Supérieur – Viking Deck

This thread has been created and opened so that we can share images, facts and information on the ship’s deck mentioned in the above heading.

If you have anything to share, we would all love to hear from you: if you would like to tell us what special memory you have from that particular deck, please tell us: if you would like to share historical information on what the rooms were on the France, and what they became on the Norway, please tell us.

We are all eagerly looking forward to seeing images and reading stories.

    NORWAY's Beauty Salon Photos

Photos of the beautiful beauty salon. The reason for the dates on the photos, I'm scanning all of my SS NORWAY photos, taking them out of the photo albums and recording what each area I took with my 35 mm. If only I had a digital camera in the early 1990s.

sigpicI will never forget the lovely grand SS NORWAY.
    Past Cruises on her: August 22, 1992. June 4, 1994, April 7, 2002.
Nearly had our fourth cruise, it was set for November 7, 2003...
the boiler room disaster of May 4, 2003 took her out of service.
We ended up on the NORWEGIAN WIND, not the same as the SS NORWAY

It's so amazing seeing these shots, and to start thinking about the many years I used to spend walking the corridors of this fine vessel.

The best years of my life.

I know the feeling Jan; just sailing on the NORWAY three times and I felt as if I had known her from the first day she sailed. I'll be downloading more photos as soon as I can.

                    Pier 2 Boarding Question

On my last cruise on the NORWAY, I'm curious what deck was this on? Luggage for passengers boarding the ship from Pier 2, also came aboard on this deck...not sure if this was Pool Deck?? Please help fill in the details, thank you for your input.

Think this might have been the Viking deck entrance..... but my memory is starting to get vague.
