Yesterday I watched a YouTube that Thijs had posted above, about an investigation into a horrifying plane collision above the SS Norway in 1998. But the video has disappeared today????

I do too, and I miss her so incredibly much each time.

What a pity she is not with us anymore--- now as the technology could have given us so much more images. Back when I worked on her, it was so expensive to document her... just 24 or 36 images a roll + processing + taxi to the mall in Miami to have the images done!

Now, we could have taken millions of images without having to spend our entire salary on developing the images and buying new films.

MY GODNESS. I keep thinking this, WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

We have scrapped and chopped the greatest maritime piece of engineering into pieces!

                idiots

I agree... I think we are all idiots allowing this to happen.

Not a single day goes by without me thinking of and missing this ship. She was something we will never ever see again. So sad to that she is gone forever.

i'm a member at the facebook group of smit towing and salvage.
your not the only one who griefs about the lost of a vessel.

buckets full of tears there of the lost of the ''zwarte zee'' III, the ''zwarte zee''IV, ''smit rotterdam,- london,- Singapore.
                harbour tugs, off shore tugs

well every vessel that issn't saved.
but if we could save every vessel, every port was full then

So true. We can't save every vessel we have a connection to. I have noticed that many people also are sad for the loss of these tugs, they seem to have a very large group of admirers.

We should be happy for the vessels that are actually saved and help support them in the best way we can.

France or Norway wasn't saved, but the Rotterdam is still operating as a hotel.
