Re: [S|S France and S|S Norway] Private collections and collectiables.

The brand new Norwegian Seamans Church in Miami has one of the glass murals from SS FRANCE / SS NORWAY installed in the church part:

Does anyone have any photo of this panel while it was on board France of Norway?

Has the only remaining significant piece of the ship, been painted blue again - and sold at an auction?

Some of my recently acquired TREASURES:

Only two in the world, the other one was sold at Christies in New York:

Fjord 046 Nordfjord Suite (one of the original suites of the 1980's) and Olympic/Oslo 1027:

Two instruction books filled with French drawings:

The biggest treasure, I will post a picture of a little later, if you all don't mind.

Ohhh, it will be worth the wait Jan... I'm really impressed.
sigpicI will never forget the lovely grand SS NORWAY.
            Past Cruises on her: August 22, 1992. June 4, 1994, April 7, 2002.
Nearly had our fourth cruise, it was set for November 7, 2003...
the boiler room disaster of May 4, 2003 took her out of service.
We ended up on the NORWEGIAN WIND, not the same as the SS NORWAY

Jan Olav-- So happy to see the informational sign from the bridge from the NORWAY in your collection. I remember the times I was lucky enough to be on the bridge wing, looking at the sign, then looking aft and looking forward and realizing what a magnificient SHIP I was on.

From what I can see, this must be the one from PORT bridgewing... am I right?

Makes us wonder if Jan-Olav bought something big and blue at auction!

What is that in the first photo Jan-Olav?, part of the lift system that displays which deck the lift is on? The Roman Spa was way down!

I so love that you have the sign for that particular deck, where (if I have understood correctly) the name of the deck and the name of the ship is one and the same. The way my mind works, that somehow makes it even more special than any other deck directory sign would be! I keep looking at it and in my imagination wonder which cabin would have suited me…a small one but conveniently situated…
Then I think of you looking often at the directory, and the memories it evokes and all that it signifies to you personally, and I am so overwhelmingly happy for you that you now own such treasure.

Great to see you have this signage from the NORWAY. The deck indicator is from the elevators from stairtower 3, I guess? I always enjoyed going down the stairs to the spa as the spa was so far down in the ship.
