One of the finest shots I have EVER seen of the Royal Viking Sky: taken at Oslo beneath the Akershus Castle by Giulio Bolognesi (you can also see half of the ex-coastal steamer Håkon Jarl operating as hotel and restaurant ship in this image):

Here is a drawing by an unknown Japanese artist of the Royal Viking Sky... before she was lengthened as you can see.

            MS Boudicca in Tjeldsund

MS Boudicca passing my birthplace, Sandtorg in Norway. What you can not see from the picture is that both me and my father was standing on the bridge wing waving and honking the horn to all the locals which was expecting us... picture is compliments of one of my fathers friends...

              MS Boudicca alongside Narsesuaq, Greenland

Here she is alongside in Narsesuaq, Greenland.

Only sternlines we got out was thru the bunker station. The night before me and 2 of the AB's made soundings along the pier with a tender boat to make sure it was deep enough... we would have grounded if we went 5 meters more ahead or 40-50 astern...

Largest vessel they ever had alongside...

Best part of the stor is that we almoust got stuck in the fjord. As we sailed out we met an incredible ice belt which had covered the fjord entrance. We just made it out and learned from the ice pilot that the fjord had been completely closed for several weeks after our departure...

Picture is compliments of Captain Olav.

              Brgds,
              Haakon

MS Grand Latino (aka Grand Latrino)

While she was sailing as Grand Latino with more than 1000 tango dancing Spaniards as passengers... during the time she was also nicknamed Grand Latrino as the standard was not exactly of the highest during this time.

Fred. Olsen took her over and relaunched her in 2006. Passenger numbers decreased and a complete refit. New main engines etc... from the outside the most obvious is removal of some of the old lifeboats and replacing with new enclosed boats...

Reliable sources (can't tell you more) say that further changing of LB's are due in the "near" future...

                Brgds,
                Haakon

This image of Royal Viking Sky was taken in July 1986 while anchored in, I believe, Flaam or Gudvangen.

                            RVL Sea Crew,

Yay! I am glad after a 7 year drought the Lakers got it together and made it happen. Now if the Dodgers could keep it together and win the World Series...

The poor Dodgers need the Big Blue Wrecking Crew back...Steve Garvy, Davy Lopes, Roy Cey, Steve Yeager....Oh wait, that was waaaaay too long ago.
I try to be loyal to some California teams, so I have to go with the Angels now.
