Sad actually - I wonder what the end will be for this ship.

As I see it, nobody takes any ownership or responsibility for the ship.

Google Translate tells me she will now be dismantled at Ghent:

SLUISKIL - The asbestos ship Diamond Princess located in Sluiskil 2.5 years, will soon go to Ghent to be demolished there. Rijkswaterstaat Sea and Delta as demolition Galloo Ghent confirm that an agreement has been concluded.

                Permits

Rijkswaterstaat however will only address the long-standing issue as the actual ship is on its way to Ghent. The wait is still a few licenses to ship, which as 'waste' is regarded to get across the border.

                Hotelschip
The Diamond Princess was in August 2012 from the port of Antwerp to Sluiskil dragged. The ship in Antwerp served some time as a hotel ship. At shipyard Screw in Sas van Gent would be ready for sea made to sail to the new destination Morocco. However, the Environment and Transport Inspectorate explained the work on the ship quiet as there asbestos in the ship was present.

                Illegal berth
Rijkswaterstaat is responsible for the ship because it is the last year in an illegal berth in the Ghent-Terneuzen. Earlier, the Diamond Princess was a little farther along the wharf of the shipyard, when it was Zeeland Seaports is responsible. They, however, never took action. Shipyard Screw says Rijkswaterstaat with some effort of having to convince that the ship was a problem of Rijkswaterstaat, as road manager.

Since then, the asbestos ship a millstone Rijkswaterstaat, because the owner to nowhere in or roads were. Six months ago, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment placed an ad in several newspapers in which the owner was summoned to come forward. Now that did not happen, it is lawful finally possible for Rijkswaterstaat to take action.

                Asbestos
Demolition Galloo Ghent expects the Diamond Princess few weeks into their yard will be towed. The demolition company estimates that asbestos four to six months and takes the demolition itself another four months.

my reporter (truckmodel builder) in Sluiskil pmed me about it

                    her days are numbered.

The tugs Karin en Bugsier 20 had towed this morning the Hakon Jarl ( ex: Diamond Princess ) to the demolistion yard in Ghent Belgium.
Rijkswaterstaat had sold the asbestosschip ''Diamond Princess'' that is moored in Sluiskil, for demolition in Ghent.
With the sale there is finally an end at the almost 3 years affair. The Diamond Princess is build as a postvessel for the Norwegian postal service, but is mainly known as the hotelschip with as homeport Antwerp.it had to go in 2012.the shipyard De Schroef in Sluiskil would make her her ready for her sail to Morocco.
after they found the arcinogenic(???) asbestos -as an isolation material- in the vessel, they havn't worked anymore on the vessel.
the vessel was just lay there. The owner didn't look at her anymore.De Schroef didn't know what to do with her.

Department of public works has finally intervened, officially because the Diamond Princess lay in on a illegal location and there formed a hazard for shipping on the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal.

                    her tow to Ghent.

2016 june 6 ''Diamond Princess'' whimsical (???) to her final resting place......

on her last trip, the ship offered much resistance. the rudder was not right, whereby the tugs had plenty of work to be able to tow her straight and much had to be corrected.
