Those reflections are simply glorious Bengt.
I would have been dubious had I simply been told about such a kind of lighting on this particular ship, but seeing it in your photo I am liking it very much.

        Cool,
I see that Vesterålen had lowered their fast rescue boat too, just in case if something would go wrong.

Some photos from my visit onboard "Vesterålen" in October.

The hatch on E-deck that leads down to the cardeck

On the car deck, we can see the "well" leading up to the hatch on E-deck. And, I am pretty sure there is a hatch on the car deck that leads down to A-deck.
Onboard "Gann", there is a stairwell where the old hatches used to be.

Looking aft on the car deck. You can actually see the foundation of the huge derrick she had on deck before the aft section was built in '89.

The cafe. There is a lot more open space onboard "Gann" since the giftshop is removed. "Gann" : http://www.captainsvoyage-forum.com/...ik-gann/page10

Inside "Glassburet" in the aft part of the cafe. More or less the same as "Gann", but different colours.

Where "Gann" has their library, "Vesterålen" has a small lounge for smokers.

From the aft lounge/bar. This is lounge has been separated into two classrooms on "Gann"

Between the cafe and the new aft section. The library is seen on the right, and in the middle of the photo, we see the well going from E deck to the car deck.

Very interesting indeed to see the car deck and look up at the E-deck hatch from below.
As far as I recollect there were some differences in the aft part of the café in the old Midnatsol (in April 2004 when she was Midnatsol II) compared with Vesterålen in your photo #292/1. The TV was on the left wall, and next to it was an opening into what was called the "sleeperette" with a number of bunks for use of folks who didn't have a cabin. On the right, equivalent of more or less behind where your photo was taken from, a small glassed-off space was a children’s playroom.

                    Awesome images to see, Kristian!

It's hard to imagine that this vessel is now already 30 years old!

Such a treat, Kristian. I have an increasing affection for Vesterålen these days, and these photos are making me drool. Especially the last one. I'm almost imagining I can see Sea-Troll in one of those two 'reverse pakarang view' cabins on deck E.

Great shots Kristian - you certainly have a wonderful talent!

Keep up taking pictures, this is absolutely wonderful!
