I actually try to record the noise (I have a small voice-recorder which I use to record my first impressions during the trip and also some noises such as the horn signals and so on...), it is so specific of this ship (I should say "these ships" since another passenger who had been on MS Nordstjernen told me the rythm was pretty similar). It's a sort of rythmic noise, almost like a heart-beat... (the recording failed unfortunately).

    Stunning pictures Tommi.

It is very cozy, almost as visiting a friend. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you. That noise actually made me smile quite much, it kind of fits in very well.

Sooo beautiful pictures. I like the detail pictures of the air conditioning knobs. As far as i remember they are all different, but the effect if you use them is always the same - NONE.

I don't know how old the reception sofa is, but that is an interesting question. I will do some research, if i have some more time during the next weeks.

Marvellous motifs Tommi, I love the simplicity of the straight-on window and door images, and the evocative focussed detail of the tread of the stair… all this and all the other recent trip reports are exactly what I need to wean me onto Lofoten now that NX has left the fleet, and to make up for my not having been able to pop across to Norway recently to join any of you.

Looking forward to the results of the sofa-research project Ralf!

It seems that they actually have replaced some of the AC equipment on board during the previous docking. There was some new installments on the outer decks. Some passengers were also chatting with the reception about cabin temperatures and they got the ansswer that they didn't quite know how everything worked these days. One day the temperature in the cafeteria obviously was 2-3 degrees higher than normal. But I still think that the effect of the thermostats is absolutely zero. A few of them are however marvellous exhibits of great industrial design, mostly american, so I hope they will remain where they are.

                  Oh Tommi, oh Tommi...

Great "new" and very different shots from the old gal... As we spoke about in Trondheim, it's sometimes hard to find the new way of photographing something we all have seen so many times.

                  You have absolutely succeeded. !

Now the question is, would I come up with different pictures if I took a second trip with Lofoten? Well, I just don't know.

It was nice to be back home again, even though the snow is still on the ground nearly down to the sea. But according to the calendar, the spring is just around the corner.

It won't help much, but spring has arrived in our little corner of the UK Bengt!!

That's a fantastic photo of Lofoten - looks like tilt shift or something equally clever!
