    Re: ::: Lofoten :::

    Marvellous motifs Tommi, I love the simplicity of the straight-on window and door images, and the evocative focussed detail of the tread of the stair… all this and all the other recent trip reports are exactly what I need to wean me onto Lofoten now that NX has left the fleet, and to make up for my not having been able to pop across to Norway recently to join any of you.

    Looking forward to the results of the sofa-research project Ralf!

      It seems that they actually have replaced some of the AC equipment on board during the previous docking. There was some new installments on the outer decks. Some passengers were also chatting with the reception about cabin temperatures and they got the ansswer that they didn't quite know how everything worked these days. One day the temperature in the cafeteria obviously was 2-3 degrees higher than normal. But I still think that the effect of the thermostats is absolutely zero. A few of them are however marvellous exhibits of great industrial design, mostly american, so I hope they will remain where they are.

        Oh Tommi, oh Tommi...

        Great "new" and very different shots from the old gal... As we spoke about in Trondheim, it's sometimes hard to find the new way of photographing something we all have seen so many times.

        You have absolutely succeeded. !

          Thank you very much.
          Now the question is, would I come up with different pictures if I took a second trip with Lofoten? Well, I just don't know.

                  It won't help much, but spring has arrived in our little corner of the UK Bengt!!

                  That's a fantastic photo of Lofoten - looks like tilt shift or something equally clever!

                    A "WOW" picture. Look at the heat coming out of the funnel. This picture is almost moving! Very well done, Bengt!

                      Who could have known 10 or 20 year ago, that Lofoten would be the last classical in the route?

                        Ditto.... actually, 20 or 25 years ago, I would have placed my money on Nordnorge, Kong Olav or Harald Jarl as the final ship, but as we now know, it were to be Lofoten.

                            Lofoten left Bergen for a short roundtrip

                            and arrived at the Hurtigruten terminal later.

                            Clearly I would do a short visit on board, but one moment I was not sure - walking, swimming or giving up...

                              Why just take the waiting taxi?
