Hi Lazybird, and a big welcome here.
I’ve been away and was hurriedly “catching-up” on what’s been happening on the forum when your post stopped me in my tracks.

You were so lucky to have such an eventful trip –at least that is how I would have thought of your crane happenings, hurtigruten geek as I am! I might so nearly have encountered you as I had been hoping to fit in a Norway trip with some port-to-port hurtigruten plus stop over in Trondheim, and fancied time aboard the traditional ships, but other things and commitments intervened, so my “hurtigruting” this calendar year has consisted of merely one day aboard Midnatsol earlier in the summer! I am always in a perpetual state of saving up for my next trip and planning the one after that!

Please please do post some pictures as I and many other of our members here would just delight in seeing the crane removal and close-up photos of a crane-less foredeck.

MS Lofoten went to Fiskestrand, where the crane was unshipped and taken ashore - I have photos/video of this happening if anyone's interested.
And how could I overlook post #342...??
Oh, well..., a warm welcome on board to you, 'lazybird', and I would very much register as an interested to have a looksee on those pictures from Fiskarstrand and the crane move

Oh yes, we all want to see those images: many of us are in fact a bunch of self-proclaimed geeks loving that/those kind of stuff(s).

Just as I was feeling annoyed with myself for not having followed Lofoten’s web cam pictures (busy week after returning from some time away), this is a Big thank you for following the web cam during the reappearance of the crane, kitbooth. Great to see.

Now I am hoping that lazybird will share some photos of the crane being taken ashore.

"Lofoten" north from Tromsø in the evening darkness.

Yes, I do really like the new lens: it's uncomparable together with the 7D.

A man fell down from a ladder and into "Lofotens" cargohold during unloading in Risøyhamn.

                              http://www.blv.no/lokalsider/andoy/article5341397.ece

                              Sadly only in Norwegian.

The ship left Risøyhamn with the man still lying in the hold. They stabilized him and set the course to Sortland for gear to get the man safe up from the room. They borrowed gear from the Norwegian Coastguard and a mobil crane from Bjorn Ovik.
The man was awake, but may have neck and back injuries.

I havent seen any more about the case, so I guess the man is "ok" considering it was a long fall.

OUUCH... that doesn't sound good at all. The best of my wishes for his quick recovery.
