    A very bright lady
Totally agree. It was just like talking to an old friend not seen for a while.
You know, I'm a member of several forums, but CV is unique.

all (or most) of us could be onboard an oldship at the same time!!!
Do you belive one crew could cope with that, or do they need to call in re-enforcement....?

the Northern Lights are already ablaze tonight
We have Aurora Bolearis as far south as Kristiansund also, weak tonight, but stronger yesterday. We seldom got the type with many colours playing over the sky, but we often have light green strong ones that I can stand outside and look at for hours...

this community is the nicest you can ever wish for!
That's why we, at least me, miss you when you are away from the forum for long periodes

There you go Harold Jarl, I think you inserted the picture as a link rather than an image. I must also thank you and everyone else for the fantastic images that have been posted. A real pleasure to look through them all!

At midnight I arrived by plane from Bergen via Frankfurt at the FMO (Münster-Osnabrück airport) and just the first “to- do” this morning was to have a look at the Captain Voyage Forum. I was so surprised and pleased that so many of you were with me on the Lofoten- journey.

Above all, I thank you so much for all the good words and wishes and it was so nice to meet some of you personally (Jan Olav in Trondheim, Hurtigrutemartin/ Jan Martin in Bodø, Harald Jarl/ Evelyn in Risøyhamn and Sterkoder/ Svein in Kristiansund one of the highlights in any case.

You see, your polar bear is still taking a look at all.

This time it was a very quiet journey with calm sea, plenty of sun, but unfortunately without snow. I have now been at all seasons on board the Hurtigruten and I must say, for me the spring (February / March) is the best time for “verdens vakreste sjøreise” (the most beautiful voyage in the world)!

And I hope, I come back one day…

So, now you all have gained a glimpse of our silver wedding trip.

                    Best regards from
                    Doris

Even though that guy there on the fourth picture most certainly is not a small detail (), as most of you know; I love details!
Thank you for charing these pictures, Doris..., from what must have been a great voyage

That cabin with those blue beds..., where in the ship is that? Is it an ordinary passenger cabin?

The above shot is my favorite so far - it's brilliant. I (heart) this image very much!

Those are such well-observed and beautiful images from a treasure of a ship Doris, and you are amazing for sharing them with us so soon after your return home from your special holiday. There had been a point some weeks ago when I had actually thought of getting across to Norway and catching you somewhere along the route, but for various reasons I didn’t make that a reality – there’ll be some other time in the future I don’t doubt. But in a virtual way I have been travelling with you on this voyage!

Dear Doris, it was sooo nice to meet with you again!

Thank you so much for the excellent pictures of details on the ship that I see so often but never thought of using the camera for artistic framework like you did here. Congrats!

Now, I know Doris has to go to work, so I bet we'll have more pictures in a few days...

Edit: Why not make a special thread for your trip??? Easier to find for us later.

Got your mail, Doris, and thank you so much for all those pictures and info on my question about a certain cabin
Never liked pictures of myself though, but well...., it's nothing much to do with just that

I must just jump in and say thank you to Doris for all of these wonderful images from 'Lofoten'. Brilliant photos of this wonderful old veteran ship. Strange looking bunch of characters you met on your journey though!
Joking aside, it looks like it was a wonderful voyage, thank you again for posting such wonderful images.
