Saturday afternoon I found that Nordstjernen was still in Harstad with a snag, which seemed to take some time to repair.

Went out to dinner with friends in the evening and didn't try to find a way to get online when returning at 23.
It would've been too early anyways, as posts on her departure on the other forum appeared later at night.

Should have called HR. Should have x-y-z. Flew south in the morning.

So I missed her. Feel a compete idiot. Like a kid who missed christmas.

No use talking to me or trying to console me, I'll be in fetal position for quite a while.

(Sorry for not sending any spotter alert, but I see you managed very well without).

Never noticed before, but what has happened to 4 of her liferafts on the port side...??
(Maybe it's so simple as they are just in for an annual check, although checking back on my own pictures, they have ben off for quite some time....).
Probably only in for servicing, although they should have even capacity on each side according to SOLAS. As she is not the pax + crew capacity should be reduced to the capacity of the rafts on Port side, or replacement rafts should have been supplied. Probably hasn't too many pax at this time of the year? Dispensation by NMD?

What's up with NX whistle, has it been toned down to sound like a simple car horn?

Hehe, i know! It sounds like a (17 mai flute)
There has been to much to do onboard, so the whistle has low priority

Nordstjernen arriving at Rørvik just less than 40 minutes ago, in brilliant and warm summer weather: still with a car whistle rather than her powerful deep bass voice:

Nordstjernen has cancelled the trip to svalbard this summer. She is going in ordinary route

Wonder if that is because NN is NOT returning in the foreseeable future.

Yes, thats the reason. NN has to finish her contract in italy, but i dont think we will se her sailing Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen this summer

I wonder if further charters are sought for Nordnorge or if she will be sold.

I see the Hurtigruten UK web pages already removed Nordstjernen from the Spitsbergen fleet and now show MS Expedition doing the shorter trips and Polar Star the longer trips that go further east. The “global” pages seem very out of date, not even listing MS Expedition.

For some time the Norwegian pages have been showing the Bergen to Spitsbergen special trip as sold out. I wonder if that will be cancelled or if one of the other two ships will take over what should have been Nordstjernen’s repositioning?

Well, who would have thought a few years ago that we would have two traditional ships on the regular route in summer!
You know, I couldn't decide what smiley to put with these comments, being delighted to see NX around, but also missing NN!

I dont think NN would be sold, there is no interest for this kind of ship...

                            NX is a wonderfull ship
