I hope she will be in service for many
Thank you so much for that story - it is stories such as that which really tells how special this ship really is. It's hard to think that the ship is still in good shape and still serving in full capacity, just as she did when your father went to the military and started his adult life.

Nordstjernen is a legend of the coast and is a ship that has done a service greater than almost any other vessel in Norway.

    Long Live Nordstjernen!

Asimut, I was so touched by your very special and personal story. It is for sure one that conveys what Hurtigruten is all about.

The line of her deck, where the black and white meet--it's looks like she's smiling.. almost a cartoon drawing from a children's book.....

It's quite easy... I'm glad you managed to do it.

For others, when you wish to add a video clip from youtube, just hit that red-and-white youtube logo in the tool panel above where you write your message, and include ONLY what is behind the = sign of the link!!

                        Loved watching that one!

Hmmmm....., have to test this out right away, with a video of "Nordstjernen" that I filmed a couple of years ago....
And if you got good speakers and turn up the volume, you can hear a fantastic sound as she passes my position.
Some of you might have seen this video before, in the old CV forum, but since we can't see too much of this vessel....

Anyone who wants to see Nordstjernen when she was in Rørvik a few days ago? (Totally rhetorical question... ).

On the 2nd of March, I went down to the dockside and got these images of her for your enjoyment:
