In temperatures we are experiencing in Norway this winter, it's enough with just a little spray from the sea to make traces like this, so most likely it's that

Yepp...., it's not that there is a trace or some ice on the hull, it's the sharpness on a certain level, and how straight it is from bow to rear.
Don't know how to explain what I mean, but as for the bow, I would've expected to fint just that trace and shape of ice...., but slightly lower, let's say down by the top of the red painting.
I'm sure there are an easy explanation though...

Spray freezes but "solid" water don't.

So incredably great design on those two!
These are just the ship designs which can get future people interested in ships and shipping.
Can't imagine newer designs, like any new hurtigrute or newer cruiseships for that matter, trigger any "ship virus" in anyones body....
(By the way...., my sleeping virus was triggered by old steamers and classic old liners after watching the movie "Titanic").
                Thanks for the pictures, J-O!!!

NX has delayed departure from Bergen.. Departure today 06:00 and her only stop will be Ålesund on her way to Trondheim.
This is because of mounting of her last and new overhauled generator

Whaddyamean AGAIN? Nice boat? Does it mean you have already been onboard on a trip?

Dear young eager friend, it DEPENDS ON what kind of comfort you're used to and what you think you can tolerate.

If you are used to (and require) modern standards of living, the "comfort" of the cheapest cabins may be somewhat remote from your preferences...

Myself I only need a simple bunk to "crash" in (when dead tired from running all over the ship) with corridor shower/toilet, as on these trips I can't waste valuable time grooming my body because I prefer to spend the waking hours on deck!

And - if you have tendency to seasickness (like 80% of the population) you may be uncomfortable when the west/southwest swells make the ship pitch and roll... Outside of that, there is no better experience than the oldships (close to nature =the sea)!

Try them for a short trip first, then decide if you want more.

A question to the Norwegians - does this link work? I saw some seconds, then it stopped and I got the message NRK has only the rights to show it in Norway?

Double posting because I didn't quote, and the message needed to be here on the next page.

I have heard about that on an aviation forum, many of them live abroad and some of them always can see web-TV links that others can not see.

Don't know what it is in your case, probably adjustments to the PC? Someone here pls try the link.

I can report that it works ok for me here in the UK. Nice to see video from inside her, though sadly i could only understand the part when they were interviewing the passengers that spoke English. Is someone raising concerns about the safety of the old ships in rough weather? Forgive my none understanding of the language.

EDIT: It would appear that the English passenger is also a fan of storms whilst traveling on the Hurtigruten!

I have the same problem here in Singapore with SOME NRK programs, while others work fine.

News cuts is a bit peculiar, like the one about NX. I can see the complete cut and then the message that if can only be shown in Norway pops up afterwards.

I have been trying to see a program called "Vaar aere og vaar makt", but that is blocked entirely, without any message being shown, while other documentaries can bee seen in full?

Any good advise on how to get around the block???

I can see the entire clip in full from my "crib" here in Norway...

The English guests interviewed is not concerned about the safety of the ship in rough weather and depression Ask which is passing North Norway these days: they are rather thrilled about it and commend the ship, the crew and have all confidence in both.
