What kind of question is that? It is MORE than OK! (and anyway, isn't this forum your home?).
Stunning pictures, I am in awe. I see what Seagull means with her "white light" comment. You captured so much life and warmth and light from this ship. Indeed your pictures would deserve a book.

Our pakarang is so very polite, Sarnia! . I think he was making sure we had all had time to see the earlier photos before continuing with more …there was an occasion once when he posted so much in such a short time, that we had difficulty keeping up with him

Pakarang, I hung out in your “sheltered place” a lot!
I’m loving these night shots. The one of the deck and stairs, #1794 particularly appeals to me, the angle of view and skillfull processing capturing the mood. And the next image #1795 is magical. Marvellous interiors you’ve taken, all of them, bringing up the yellow tones of the aft lounge. Oh and I mustn’t forget those of the lighting on the aft deck (not there for my voyage).
I can sense your really emotional goodbye in Rørvik, looking at those images.

Posting another pix of Nordstjernen, this one seen from Ergan Fort in Bud, Møre og Romsdal. In the background we can see the Langeled pipeline being laid in Norskehavet, taking gas from Ormen Lange/Aukra to UK. The pix is taken in April 2006 with a 300 mm lens.

(sorry for the poor quality of pictures)

I think it was the room reserved for the crew

I like the mugs - plenty of cakes too!

First, thank you for everyone contributed to this thread lately - a lot of splendid material here.

Sometimes I get the impression that the interior of NX feel a bit more modern, trendy and up to date than the one of Lofoten? There has to be have been some renovations going on for some years ago?

That, but there is also some original fifties "trendiness" still there, I think - if you look at original building interiors of the 1950s, you often see a very clean, modern and "light" style, whereas the 1960s had a tendency towards "heavier" interiors, so this also might be part of the differences between Nordstjernen and Lofoten.

                      Re: ::: Nordstjernen :::

Fascinating discussion …not least because I tend to see Nordstjernen as feeling the more traditional, and Lofoten somewhat more trendy-modernised! However, as I’ve often said, Nordstjernen’s aft lounge with it’s big windows and basket chairs feels like a conservatory extending onto the aft deck, so perhaps that light=modern is what you are feeling Tommi.

I’ve only been aboard the ships since 2003. Nordstjernen has always looked the same since then (other than one carpet design being replaced). Lofoten on the other hand has changed a lot, and the new curtains and furniture design make her seem “more modernised” to me. I’ll see if I can find some earlier photos I took, and post on Lofoten’s thread. (Edit: now done, here.)

Heading for the cabins, Nordstjernen’s wonderful corridors certainly look more traditional.

But elsewhere, as Gestumblindi has pointed out, the fashion of furnishings changes through the decades. So to see NX looking terribly trendy take a look at the old TFDS brochure pakarang found, and HurtigruteMartin’s late 80’s photo of the front lounge!

That is the LB 200 out there laying the Langeled Pipeline to UK.
At Ormen Lange there is nothing on the surface to be seen, unless there is some drilling or other work going on.

Nordstjernen is sold to a small steamship company in Bergen.

When the new owner was known a few days ago, some feared that Nordstjernen would end up like "Bruvik", a ship bought by the same company 3 years ago, that was sailed to a yard in Poland and ended up never coming home again (yet). Riksantikvaren was contacted and as of yesterday, Nordstjernen was temporarily protected/preserved by Riksantikvaren to prevent the new company from taking her abroad.

However, the new owner say they are planning on restoring her to her original conditions, then maybe use her as a cruiseship along the coast, or as a hotelship.

Oh, I really hope and pray she will remain in the country for many more years and that she won't be too "modernized".

Thank goodness her new status prohibits her to sail to Poland: if that was ever the possibility.

Here is an "old" image of Nordstjernen passing Korsfjord in the morning of March 23rd 2012:
