    Re: ::: Finnmarken :::

    Another vote from me for as she is now - or possibly as she was a week ago without a label to tell us what she is - we know she's a Hurtigrute!
    Cheers,

    Mark.

      I like Tommi's version actually... it makes the ship appear a lot bigger than what she actually is.

      But, then again, all of them works fine... the only one is the all black (no red) hull... it's just too sad without the red band.

              Good suggestions for an altered color scheme, but clearly the one MS Finnmarken has now is the best Funny how the "all white" scheme of her Australian days made her unrecognizeable. The white-red-black is Hurtigruten!

                Really like seeing Finnmarken from this angle. Great to see the forward decks clear of snow.

                  Ahhhh, memories, watching Finnmarken pass beneath the bridge in Tromsø…how that takes me back!…But that was autumn and I’d thought she’d never set off until it was too dark to photograph!!!! Wonderful to see your video, and brilliant how you “ wrapped it over” to the view in the other direction.
                  Ummm, what are you doing to me …now I really don’t know if I most want FM or NL to be the next hurtigrute I travel on again!!!!!

                      Lovely. Am I uniquely geeky in :
                      1. Enjoying the rotating radars
                      2. Assuming this is well below cruising speed and wondering to what extent the bow wave irons out at cruising speed as it should, at lest in theory, with bulbous bow?

                              Today the Bergen newspaper "BA" was making an article of the ship spotters in Bergen
                              I mailed Finnmarken yesterday to request an Askøy bridge passing today and the captain accepted
                              then Finnarken became the model for the article while we were in action
                              The story will first be a paper edition and then a net edition later with photo's fro us

                              Here are the shots of today's bridge passing of Finnmarken

                                That must be one of the first published articles about shipspotters?
                                Great pictures, Finnmarken really looks nice seen from above.
