Fantastic photos Tom! And great to see her back home again looking like a proper Hurtigruten. When is she back in service?

            Hi Steve.

Finnmarken in for Nordlys, leaving Bergen 16th Feb, 27th Feb, 9th Mar, then replacing Nordstjernen from 22nd March. (http://www.hurtigruten.no/Norge/prak...uar-mars-2012/)

I'm sorry to see Nordstjernen come off the run, but Finnmarken is a beauty to my eyes, and I know that, particularly in the north, our Norwegian friends will be very happy to have her back.
            Cheers,

            Mark.

Thank you so much Tom for taking time to show us the "fine ship with the round stern"....

Did anyone notice the restaurant window...? Almost looks like it is broken... and the grey curtain is down?

                hi there,

                out of the box
the only time ever i saw a hurtigruten ship
(i think only a lottery would bring me a step
                closer for an onboard experience)

however on it's maiden voyage (and only ?) to Amsterdam
this is almost 10 years ago, april 13 2002

sorry for the low quality i was using traditional camera then

                best regards,
                b. Joe

Thank you Joe, we geeks are glad also (and especially) about historic pictures. And these are oviously very rare! And think about a port to port cruise with a Hurtigruten ship. A short distance trip is much more reliable, - well if it happens you have to go to Norway some day...

                    Excellent flashbacks .... isn't Friday's a flashback day?

Nice to see her at the beginning of her career. A beautiful ship, then and now!
