Finnmarken are on the move, heading NE along the WA coast.
Maybe heading for Dampier first, before finally heading towards Singapore??

With the entire Qantas fleet grounded due to Industrial (in)Action, perhaps it's a new money making opportunity for Finnmarken!!

Dampier to Singapore direct - OK, may take a little bit longer than the plane, but at least you wouldn't be in a tin full of people.

One Finnmarken approx equals one and a half A380s doesn't it?
        Cheers,

        Mark.

So much for my cunning plan - Qantas problems fixed!!

But Finnmarken is actually heading to Dampier anyhow.

To celebrate Finnmarken's start of the long trek north, one or two reminders of her 'on the run'. These are a mixture from 2004 and 2006.

And finally - I know it's not polite to look at a lady's rear end - but in this case I hope you'll forgive me ...

Looking forward to following the trip on the AIS - and hope very much that Ombugge is able to get some photos when Finnmarken is in Singapore!!

From her heading in open waters she will be going through Lombok Strait, along the Java Sea and Karimata Strait to enter Singapore Strait from the East.
Alternatively, Selat Gelasa, Selat Berhala and Selat Durian, if bound for a yard in Tuas area, or Riau Strait if bound for Eastern Anchorage.
                    We shall see.

She is outside Terrestial AIS range. Anybody with access to Satellite based AIS??
Otherwise we will not see any update until she approaches Lombok Strait I'm afraid.

Finnmarken has changed her destination to Sembawang, with ETA 11.Nov. at 1030 hrs.
That should be a clear indication as to which yard she will be at while in Singapore. (As expected)

                          Thanks so very much ombugge.

I have been in at AIS almost every day, trying to get an exact spot on her....

Welcome on board this friendly forum and congratulations on your first post.

I'm sure that I'm speaking on behalf of many members here when I say that we are all thrilled that she has made it safely to Singapore and Sembawang Shipyard.

It'll be so amazing to see her back in Norway again, and to start traveling with the most beautiful ship again. I love Finnmarken, her design and looks.

We discussed Finnmarken quite a much onboard NN. Everybody seems to like her, even HaraldJarl was a bit fond of that ship.
When it was announced that it was going down below I thought what a pity, I really want to sail on it someday.
