Does anyone have an estimated date of departure for the vessel: departure from Norway I mean?

December 9 was mentioned in that newspaper article in post #250 (at least I think that’s what it says . . .)

You are correct, I didn't see that detail.

Few more days in Norway then, she should be nearly completed. Does anyone know if she will call at any cities before departing from Norway?

On my last visit on board, I got myself some souvenirs on sale in the gift shop:

On top of all the goodies you got, I love the little heart like the Norwegian flag on the pin card....

Has anything been written about how they are going to man her for the trip to Oz? Has any of the future Aussi crew arrived in Oelen? (Just curious)

In the article I posted earlier Mermaid Marine was mentioned as one of the beneficiaries of this mega project already at this stage. They are one of the main Crewing Agents in Perth and may be supplying manpower to Hurtigruten as well?

The client, Boskalis, never seems to say anything. There was one press release to say they had won the Gorgon field construction contract then total silence. Pretty poor show for a large firm.

Well, one little "accommodation barge" doesn't count for much in a multi-billion $$$ project I guess, which is what she will be seen as at Barrow Island.

It is a major issue only to the Hurtigruten enthusiasts here at CVF, and to HRG.

December 9th and today should according to earlier plans, be the departure day for Finnmarken to go aborad.

I have tried finding a wesbite offering AIS tracks for Olen, Stavanger and Haugesund area to see if the ship is on the move, so that I then afterward could try to spot her on a webcam.

                      So far no luck....

Anyone with any updates, please report!

Actually, I have no idea if she'll make a call at anywhere before leaving Norwegian territorial waters. If it wasn't for the around 800 kilometers from Trondheim, I would have driven down south to catch a glimpse of her before it's too late, but that will be too long a drive for such a task.

The ships own BTNO webcams are still working, and have been showing (and updating) the views from this position since she moved during the early hours of Monday 7th. I took this small change of position to indicate that work on her was complete, but so far today nothing further has happened.
Perhaps she will just quietly slip away during the night . . . .
I hope her webcam stays on for a while.

I'm hoping and praying we get a final shot of her - all dressed in white before she disappears from us.

As far as I can see, Finnmarken still resides at Ølen. That would make her two days behind schedule for departure to Australia.

Wonder if she is now fully painted and whether we could get a new shot of her completed white hull.

It's so sad it wasn't done at a shipyard closer to me so that I could have made a trip.

I read your PM, Jan-Olav, where you asked if I knew when FM was to leav Ølen/Westcon.
Me too heared 9th december, but other info and AIS conferms her still being there..., in dry dock.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you when she's leaving.
(Even I don't have contacts everywhere, mohahahahaha).

I'm always so impressed by you! It takes a real man to admit he doesn't really control the whole world... (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.... )

Me too, I have been checking some public AIS sites, and according to them, she is still in Ølen.
