Question regarding the whistle on board Trollfjord:

A bird told me recently that the whistle on board Trollfjord was taken from another old coastal steamer...... does anyone know more about this, and from which she carries the whistle (typhoon)?

This Q came up again today in a discussion... I wonder if she inherited the whistle from a former VDS vessel, possibly the old Finnmarken?

I asked some people who should know it:
I send a mail to trollfjord@hurtigruten.com and asked them.
Here is the answer from Resepsjon TF [Resepsjon.TF@hurtigruten.com]:

            "Hello hurtigrute lovers =)

our horn is not from an older steamer its made in sweden by Kockum.

            Best regards

(Honestly the whistle company is written with a "C", but you know your diligent filter-troll, uuahahahaha!)

So this rumour turned out to be a legend...

Wonderful... I could naturally have sent them an e-mail also, but it didn't even enter my mind..

OK, we now know that the typhoon is NOT from an older ship. Thank you for checking into the old story and finding the truth for us.

                              OH........NO..

First i saw your image I hoped it was a fake or manipulated photo.
What are they up to now???????

I certenly hope they don`t want to paint som flirting eyes and flowers on the hull, as well.

I guess we have to pay extra attention to all ships from now on. Interesting to seif every ships get that "HURTIGRUTEN" written by big white letters.
