Absolutely stunning image ... love the colours of the image: yellow, blue, red, ..... the dynamic is great!

As usual, really well done - love these kinds of images.

Wonderful day for the punters on Trollfjord today. Loads of road problems on Magerøya and no hope of getting the buses to run from Honningsvåg to Nordkapp - no probs, the boat did the tour for them! Cruised up to the plateau, came back at 3 ish. Great fun.
      Cheers,

Back in the day, my cycling friend and I rode the round trip Honningsvåg-Nordkapp-Honningsvåg.

'Twas midsummer's day plus or minus one, but the weather was evil.

We could smell polar bear and Russian miner on the cold wind as it blew in from Svalbard.

Yes, normal day, but un-normal hurtigrute arrival..., or at least docking :-)

Oh, yeah, I didn't even notice. She is not docked at her usual place, swapped places with the cruise ship!

Looks fun - Trollfjord taking part in a towing exercise off Honningsvåg.

This is a valuable experience for the crew on both ships and I think all ships should try this on regular intervals.

Some pictures from a trip between Bodö and Kirkenes in the end of October.

I had a nice walk from the airport down to the port, where Trollfjord was awaiting me.

As we were three persons in our company, we got one of the J cabins with limited view on deck 6.

              The excursion desk

Waffle with römme that is Norway for me!

Nice sunset when we were leaving Bodö.

On the first night we had a lovely dinner in the a la carte restaurant. It was the first time I tested a la carte on Hurtigruten and I wasn't disappointed.

This reindeer was among the best dishes I have ever had on a cruise ship.

Our call in Svolvaer was cancelled due to strong winds.

I had reindeer on a couple of occasions. First time was in Narvik. I could hardly believe how delicious it was. I'm sure it would be as delicious today but I no longer eat my fellow mamals; only fish and fowl.

Next morning in Harstad, with some snow on the ground.

              The Espolin Johnson lounge

              The lecture hall

The Saga Hall restaurant with its cozy interior.

However is the buffet area too cramped for several hundred person at the same time….

              The atrium

              A short stop in Finnsnes.

              The Straumsfjord

              My favourite place onboard.

At the same time as we approached Tromsö the sun disappeared behind the mountains.

                The view from the bridge.

                High speed ship

Skjervöy, not much of northern lights this night.

Next morning I took a dip before breakfast.

                Richard With leaving Havöysund.

Beautiful day up in the north.

                Arriving Honningsvåg.

We took a short mountain hike up on Storfjellet.

A sea eagle in fron of the ship.

                The cafeteria

                Great food here too.

Finally some green up in the sky.

The time flew away and in Kirkenes we had to get off. As always it was a delightful experience with Hurtigruten and Trollfjord is my favourite among the modern ships. And thanks you the wonderful crew, which made the trip even better.

Fantastic photos - and a beautiful ship, we always feel it's like 'coming home' to visit TF.
                    Cheers,

I know I am biased towards the more "normal" looking ships that don't look like a floating hotel with paintings everywhere but I dislike the tendency to turn them into garish holiday ferries. That is me, that is how I view modern ships, and I realise that many people love the new look of an ostentatious hotel. Apologies for the rant.

Thank you! As long as the ship has a maritime atmosphere I am happy, sure Trollfjord feels more like a hotel than Lofoten, but you still feel close to the sea onboard Trollfjord, which is the important part for me.

Agree, TF has a special "homey" feeling on board.
And thank you very much for the picture update too, long time since I was onboard.

Kim, outstanding pictures. I also don't really like the look of MS and TF very much, but your photos show a very warm and cozy atmosphere. You must be motivated to book a trip by watching these!
