It is by the Norwegian artist Kjell Nupen, who also provided many artworks for Finnmarken.
One of our CV forum members HurtigruteMartin knew him from school days in Kristiansand!
See Posts #252 and 253 here on Finnmarken’s thread.

          Ohhhhh You still remember, Seagull??

Last time I met, and had a chat with Kjell, was at Christmas 2010 home in Kristiansand. So we are not THAT regular friends. But he was thrilled that his artwork was mentioned, discussed and loved in a forum like ours. And not ONLY in "art-circles".

Next time I meet him, I will tell him that he also has a french "Hurtigruten-lover" in his "fan-club"

It is not JUST Kjell Nupen`s artworks I do love. I also LOVE this picture of yours, Yves. How superb composition this is. Nupens wonderful artwork with spotlights on the wall in the restaurant. And the sitting-group and the form and blue Nupen-color of the chairs is also quite artistic. Together this is just wonderful.

Just look.......It seems that the chairs itself have arms, and are going to eat........
And in my inner eye I see a new-married couple having a romantic evening, looking out of the window to their future. Where a lighthouse appears to guide them the right way through life.........

Sorry. I have a strange imagination and fantasy sometimes. . And sometimes even romantic

          WONDERFUL image "yvneac"

I have friends doing their first Round Voyage on MS Trollfjord departing from Bergen on Monday 12th March, so if any of you local photographers happen to spot the ship at any of the ports would love to see pictures!

Linray – Trollfjord is the ship immediately after Nordstjernen in the sequence, so on my couple of days on NX I’ll miss TF and I think I’ll have to have headed to the airport before she gets back into Bergen at the end of your friends round trip.

Yvneac – There is a new park in Kristiansand known as the Nupen park and designed by him with a fountain and an amazing large urn-like vase in his blue colours! – photos starting here,
Another photo I took of the vase, looking a bit as if the clouds are coming out of it, is here.

The Kjell Nupen's open air work produces great visual effect.
Furthermore I appreciate the way you photographe:respect of subject and your own interpretation of it.The result gives an additional life.

I have kind of missed the new construction outside the deck bar. A kind of framework for a roof or similar? When did that get on place?

Actually quite difficult to say, just by looking back through the thread. I guess it seems more obvious looking down from a higher viewpoint….we need our Bergen/Tromsø bridge photographers!…or a port visitor……

….or I may have to plan a cunning itinerary for my next hurtigruting to include Nordlys, Finnmarken AND Trollfjord…but then I’d need to check up on Midnatsol too….
