The funnel and aft mast is still missing... perhaps a new layout, a new funnel?
Further commentary: If you see the full size image, there is a change in the superstructure behind the bridge (demolished), and the main mast can be seen on shore, behind the ship. The lifeboats has also been removed, and there is a new "opening" on the lowest outdoor deck, where the lowest passenger entrance used to be.

Another thing, they have reversed the curve on the faux bow-break. IIRC, we've seen that before and nobody liked it.

I can only hope they will replicate the old feature where the mast abuts the funnel, which was so distinctively H-J. I would be criminal do do otherwise.

That said, it's great to see her nearly back in service again, in whatever condition.

The ship is now in Shipyard Vranjic as we left the dock. Ship was completely filled with epoxy putty, and then repainted as you can see from photos , also we prepared space for installing stabilizers in October 2013. As you can see we put some stainless steel on bow to prevent anchor of damaging the filler. Inside we are refurbishing crew cabins, refreshing passenger cabins, also we added on 7th deck 4 new apartments on the back of the bridge. If plans go well we are in the shipyard until the middle of the March 2013. and then M/S Serenissima is going to have maiden voyage. The funnel is on repainting and is going to be back on board probably by the end of this year.

That`s all from me now, I am going to be back soon.

            Dear WWotar,

Welcome on board our friendly forum here. So happy, honored and pleased to welcome you to our friendly family. I hope, on behalf of everyone, that you will enjoy your time with us.

I would also like to say thank you very much for sharing those images with us.

For most of the members here, and people in love with these beautiful ships, it's very exiting to see how beautiful the ship has become. She shines and sparkles like a diamond, and the work done on her so far, is amazing. I actually get very exited seeing these images.... it's a beautiful vessel with tons of history. She was built in the town where I currently live, and many people around here will never forget this ship.

I wish her new owners, her Captain and her entire crew, and all guests that are to sail on her, smooth seas and prosperous journeys ahead.

Once again: waow... I'm so very exited to see how beautiful she looks now!

WWotar, welcome aboard and thank you for your report.

It will be interesting to learn more about the stabilizers. They will need to be good to prevent this particular ship from rolling! Stabilizer trials should prove to be very interesting. They will need to find just the right settings. Presumably the stabilizer manufacturer will be on board to do that. I would love to be there.

The epoxy finish is incredible, considering the condition the metal must be in underneath. Hopefully any thin parts were patched before the epoxy was applied.

With her new finish, she looks like a super-yacht to me.

Very impressed to see this beautiful ship get a second chance in life.

Love it. The “Old Master” look is courtesy of Adobe I imagine, but even in original “Young Master” form it is clearly super special. Ship, clouds and seagulls (both feathered and red-anoracked) too! Just look at the water at the bow, feel the movement of the ship and the exhilarating wind.
A shame, though totally understandable, that unlike many other posts made this evening, there is not a word here about heading e-Bay-wards.

                          Two things
                          1. Will Serenissima keep the open bridge wings? I can understand the desire for enclosed wings, especially in Winter, but the open design was such a feature of HJ and other ships of her era. This was such an attractive part of the ship, especially for passengers when approaching somewhere interesting. I'll never forget standing there as we entered Raftsundet from the north.
                          2. Should this thread now be titled "Re: ex HARALD JARL ::: ANDREA ::: SERENISSIMA ::: ", or do we wait until she is back in service? What is the CV protocol for name changes?

You are a young man with SO much TALENT, Jan-Olav........... I love all the paintings and drawings you have posted here on CVF, as much as I love your photos.

May I suggest you open your Pakarang art-gallery somewhere in Trøndelag, with various exhibitions of paintings and photos ??????????

Maybe Korsfjord or even Kong Olav would have been a wonderful floating pakarang-gallery........

I am pretty sure that a lot of your CVF-crew will be there, drinking champagne and celebrate the opening-cermony together wit you.

You are too kind... you really made my day blushing!

I don't think of myself anywhere near of opening my own gallery.... perhaps in 30 years, but by then, I'll be nothing but dust!

The champagne drinking part sounds really nice though... but can we do it before I eventually open my gallery instead..?

By the way, the most recent photo of the Serenissima can be seen at shipspotting....

Look like the new cabin section behind the bridge is being constructed as we speak. But I must admit, she looks astonishing and almost like a beautiful classical yacht.

                                But as one who has been drawing for over 45 years, and especially boats and ships....., unless you're left handed;
How on Earth is it possible to draw a boat/ship with the stern on the left side of the drawing...?

For anyone: take a white paper and a pen, try it...., you want to start with the bow to the left, wouldn't you...?

If you are right handed, J-O..., I'm even more impressed
