But J-O is right about one thing...., there was an "Astrea" in the hurtigruten.
She sailed for Bergenske and was in traffic in hurtigruten between Trondheim and Hammerfest from 1900 to 1910 (when she sank).

      That's indeed true, Svein.

Oh, yeah... that will be my excuse. I knew I had heard about a ship by that name, but didn't realize it was many years before the one above was launched.

Maybe Astrea could be a new name for the future?

The ship is quite easy - Midnatsol - the one from 1949.

The port of call is harder, but my immediate guess is Kirkenes

Ship is correct, congratulations, but it is not Kirkenes. The Picture is from 1978.
You are the specialist of this Italians, is the Midnatsol different from her Sisters?

Hmmm.. then I keep on guessing.. Molde? Or Torvik?
A person who is expert on bus companies could have a clue in the parked bus, but I'm not..

The immediate difference on Midnatsol from her sisters was that her 2nd class lounge aft was never rebuilt like the other Italians was in the time period 1959-62. So during her whole life she appeared the same as she was when she was brand new

Great picture by the way! It truly describes the Hurtigruten in her prime years - an attraction along the coast with lots of audience And the Italian sisters are becoming more and more beautiful the more I see of them. Keep the photos coming if you have more of this

No, it's a place called "Post". I don''t know where it is, but it must have been a hurtigruten port in the old days

Have you noticed that the dog is in the process of jumping onto the elevated hardstanding in the foreground, and is is captured by the camera with at least two paws off the ground. The other two paws are just hidden but I think they may be off the ground too.

I will guess at Bodo but only because that's the first hurtigruten port to pop into my head.

Sorry, only another one from the same ship.

So during her whole life she appeared the same as she was when she was brand new
                      Thanks for these Informations.

I think there are no informations in the picture to identify the port, so please told me, if i should say it.
I like this picture because it is a real Postship with the Postlabel in front at the building.
                        with kind regards,

The post horn looks very familiar. It is very similar to the one used by Deutsche Bundespost (DB), though maybe facing the opposite direction.

                              Not far away from it.

Then there is only one port left - Stokmarknes...

The mountains and the bus are mye clues, they don't look like in the two other ports.
