Maybe the best one, written by Mike Bent in English:

                  Wait a minute......

I just have to look in my bookshelf, to see if all my books are stolen

Your bookshelf looks JUST like mine, captain.
Even the little brown-red one by Bakka jr is "mine"

Wish I also had that last one, by Mike Bent.

I kind of figured you would have the same books...

The Mike Bent book, which I bought in Trondheim a long time ago, is actually a very nice English book about the coastal service: probably among the best compiled story-wise.

I hadn't heard of that book: I will certainly look out for this one! Thanks!

Thank you... for those that doesn't have this one, here is a place where it seems like you can get yourself a copy.

The book is well written, and the best chronological history of Hurtigruten up to the early 90s. This would be a great book if it also had been updated to include the years from the early 90's till today.

                              I have:
Hurtigruten Sjøveien mot nord , (the edition with Kjeungskjær fyr on the cover) – yes it’s only in Norwegian so I hope you are impressed – no I didn’t just buy it because it says Seagull on the cover! (Actually most useful for the technical facts and figures which are relatively easy to understand.)

Med Hurtigruten Nordover with the sunset – but in English, so it’s called, somewhat less concisely, Norway’s Coastal Voyage to the top of the world.

And the first of those “newer picture books “ – the Hurtigruten Welcome on board (with text in three languages).

BUT inexplicably not the Mike Bent book in English!– but I will do something about that!

I also have a German book with photography from a journey aboard Lofoten – I think it was mentioned on the forum once – possibly on the old board –but anyway here is the cover:

Oh, and I’ve also several editions of the small book describing the journey which is sometimes given to tourists on the package holidays, but can also be purchased on board the ships.
