A real veteran RS came into Kristiansund yesterday. This was RS 46 Thomas Fearnley owned by private interests at island Midsund.
The owner said he planned to put the boat up on the slipway of a repair yard at island Frei south of Kristiansund, and maybe let the boat stay at Mellemværftet for the winter season.
        Facts:
Built by Knut Christensen & Co in Risør in 1938. Designed by Bjarne Aas, this was the Redningsselskapets very first motor powered boat. In service from 1938 to 1967, saved 109 persons from a sure death, helped 621 vessels and saved 7 boats/ships from a total loss

Beautiful boat, and a winter season with love, care and fresh paint will be good for sure.
