Thank you so much for sourcing and sharing these images of a truly wonderful tup. I remember in my teens sitting in my room, building a plastic model of this ship. I think I still have the models somewhere in a box.... probably smashed to pieces.

An article in Maasmond newsletter today about an old tug is mostly taken from this Milwaukee Notebook article date 2015:

So many great additions here, and now T/B WATERMAN of Kristiansund Tugboat Service, which helped a little while Marco Polo was docking today

Oh yes, Waterman and Waterbjørn are very well kept.
The company also got a new tug, Waterchief, which I honestly thought they sold after loosing the contract of tug operations at Sunndalsøra and Hydro to another tug company.
But reading their web-site, I see they say Waterchief is redelivered after an 18 month charter. Hmm..., must find out :-)

Edit: Ok, Waterchief was delivered new to Kristiansund taubåtservice in 2010. Then it changed name to BB Hunter and now it's Waterchief again (aparently changed back to its original name in 2013. Kristiansund Taubåtservice is still Managing Owner, but Multraship Towage & Salvage BV is listed as Manager. According ti info it has also operated as Multratug 20 for a while.

                          Interesting background!

I got interested and was wondering if Waterman is a so-called Voit-Schneider tug, or just a conventional propeller. A quick search found that she is indeed not.

Highly manoeuvrable tractor tug with Deutz/Schottel configuration. Equipped with a powerful Rapp Hydema towing winch, and suitable for ship assistance, coastal towing amd minor anchor handling duties. European trading area within A2 limits.
A handful images from on board at this link: http://www.taubaatservice.no/tugs/wa...aterman-26-tbp

She is very well kept I would say!

The three pictures in the link is correct, the pictures in the changing heading is in fact from the 2010 built Waterchief ;-)
