    Re: World's FISHING BOATS

A Fishing vessel spotted at JSML Yard in Singapore some days ago:

Looked like a converted Trawler, but converted to what???

    Aha!!! Long Liner:

Probably for the Toothfish play in the Southern Ocean. (Legal or illegal I don't know)

        Re: World's FISHING BOATS

She had the former Owners Logo on the bow:

Even present name was hard to spot.
Nothing on the front of the Bridge as is common on most Fishing boats:

But on top of the Wheel House in small letters:

        She is the "Wuhan N4".
No flag hoisted and no Home port or IMO No. painted on the hull.
The callsign is JYAY9, which indicate that she is Jordanian registered. (Not a major fishing nation)

PS> Wuhan is a town in China

          Re: World's FISHING BOATS

No IMO, no flag, no ID, no searchable name......, hmmmmm...

I can't see from your picture what letter nr. 5 is, looks like a U, but let's say that this is former norwegian trawler VESTERVON.
If so, and I don't know how this trawler looked like, it is reported a being broken up in Stokksund, Norway in 2008.
Why is it then in Singapore 2012?

If you are in the area and have time, is it possible for you to focus a bit mor on the letters only, specially the nr. 5, 7 and 8?

It pretty much look like the others are: VEST_R__N (the nr. 8 looks like an E to me, so I doubt it is the old Vestervon from 1969).
