How nice to see some pictures of the port next to your home!! Impressing waves in the harbour entrance.

        Re: World's FISHING BOATS

Thank you, Ralf. These were taken back in July, a day with a "normal" strong wind, but what you see above is a mere ripple compared to what slams its way through the narrow harbour entrance when it really gets going. Lowestoft is the most easterly point of the British Isles and this is the North Sea! The town was once famous for its herring fishing fleet, when the boats came in loaded with the "silver darlings" and the girls came down from Scotland to clean and gut the fish. But nothing very exciting comes in these days.
However, I'll try to brave the elements now and again, particularly later in the season, (Lowestoft is always twice as "bracing" as anywhere further inland) and see what I can find.

That’s so very East Anglian light you’ve captured in those photos Ivy. That rough sea made me think of some Benjamin Britten music, from Peter Grimes.

Then I must away to Aldeburgh and capture the waves crashing on to the shingle, much more in keeping with Peter Grimes. The haunting almost desolate music is in tune with the strange atmosphere I always feel when on the beach there.
Yes, the light in this part of the world is certainly special, Cecilia. It can be so clear and sparkling that it lifts one's spirits no matter what the mood before.

"Remøy Viking" moored at a pier on the mainland at Tromsdalen.
The ship has been under arrest since May after the monetary claims of the crew.
What happens next is hard to say.

A Fishing vessel spotted at JSML Yard in Singapore some days ago:

Looked like a converted Trawler, but converted to what???

                              Aha!!! Long Liner:

Probably for the Toothfish play in the Southern Ocean. (Legal or illegal I don't know)
