the tug company wanted to set 3 tugs for the job from the yard to the port,IHC wanted just 2 tugs.(cheaper issn't aways better)
it seems that even the decks inside where pushed up,so some extra work is needed.
i don't think that for the new one they will order again 2 tugs.
              best regards Thijs

My contribution today is a distant image of the new OLYMPIC ENERGY moored over at Sterkoder yard yesterday

Not a lot in the idle flock today:

This Swire PSV is not among the idle ones:

                  Nor is this Swire AHTS:

Or the Malaysian AHTS Executive Hounor:

Nice name for this last one. I hope it is true.

The Seismic Survey Vessel Western Monarch, belonging to Western Geco. Built at Ulstein in 1991 and still going strong.

She is preparing for an assignment in Qatar and is being "hardened" for the passage through possible piracy zone in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman.

The opening at gun deck level is being plated over and razor wires installed along the sides.
                        Before:

                        Work in progress:

Her Support Vessel the Mainport Cedar:

                        Is also being "hardened":

All this is costing money to install and has to be removed again before she can go to work.
