I hate to talk about "levels" of society or people but the standard of behavior is different for different people. When something is priced low enough for all to afford you almost have to expect that you'll see all levels of behavior.

This does not surprise me, since in my opinion the time frame was very ambitious.
Pity for all the 3.000 bookers, which have to change their plans now,

Another monster ship (x2) in the making:
            http://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/...far-as-us.html
Imagine a situation where evacuation at sea should be necessary. The requirement is to be able to fully evacuate in 30 min.
With 9500 Pax + Crew that would be a mammoth, if not impossible, undertaking, even in good weather.

Luckily she is not intended for the Arctic:

Agree with you! That is one massive ship.... how an evacuation can be done is something they really have to figure out.... patch out sections of the ship to become "lifeboats"?

Safety is a side of the case, but how many ports have logistics to be able to handle such ships.
With three times the number of pax compared to today's cruise ship.Great need for buses and guides, Requirements for land-based facilities etc etc

For me, it all sounds like a recipe for potential disaster. The risk for a disaster worse than that of the Titanic is there....in port or not. The Costa Concordia need to be remembered always as a reminder for potential human error/s.

These monsters will probably be classes "Safe return to port":
                https://www.deltamarin.com/current-c...eturn-to-port/
I.e. the liftboats and rafts will only be for show, which is probably what they already are on the existing monsters.

                        "zero-speed stabilizers" sound interesting.
