Terrible resolution but from what I can see, a cruise ship with blue funnel (NCL perhaps?) and one of her tenderboats returning in high seas.

I was in Bergen two days before the naming of Viking Star on May 17th. She was then berthed at Skolten, filling up her diesel tanks. She was so big that I had to divide her in two to get her into my camera.

            Cruise call?

Very odd cruise visit? Regular call? German sub (you can’t see the flag in the picture, it was very tiny, but it was there all right) docked in Bergen May 11, 2014:

And again this year, May 15, 2015. Are they cruising and having a good time in Bergen, or are they guarding the borders of Schengen or something..?

            Regards; Sigve.

As seen in Maasmond Newsclippings yesterday Virgin Cruises is close to order two large Cruise ships from Fincantieri with something that looks suspiciously like the Ulstein X-bow, although it is not an Ulstein Solutions design, as far as I know: http://www.cruisehive.com/virgin-cru...ise-ships/7062

But Ulstein is also entering into the Cruise and Exploration market with their new Discovery series of designs:http://www.ulstein.com/Kunder/ulstei...257E59003388D4

A video presentation of the concept: https://vimeo.com/129643223

              Will there be any takers???

Carnival Cruises is turning an old saying on it's head; "I get to travel and gets paid for it" will now become; "I get to work and pay for it": http://gcaptain.com/carnival-starts-...content=261222

Is Cuba going to be the next big thing for US Cruising?: http://gcaptain.com/cruise-lines-cle...2#.VZznMvmqpBc
But they are not going to be alone. MSC will homeport a ship in Havana during the Northern winter season.

It is approved by US authorities: http://www.ihsmaritime360.com/articl..._source=Eloqua

How long before there are a McDonalds (and/or Starbucks) on every corner in Havana??
Go there soon, if you want to see it as it has been for the last 50 years.

Singapore, with TWO fully functioning Cruise Centers, does not have enough Cruise ship calls to get even near to fill the capacity.
More need to be done to attract vessels to visit, or homeport here: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/...p/1973964.html

Notice the figure of 110 mill. Chinese making trips outside China last year. That is the fast growing market that Singapore and the Cruise industry is eyeing and aiming at for future growth.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it a rip off, but even though, you must be aware of your activities and the cost of each. It's really easy to loose track of things you purchased during the duration of your cruise. Everything comes at a price, and running a cruise ship costs more than what a ticket cost.

TUI's new Mein Schiff 5 has been launched at Meyer Turku yard: https://gcaptain.com/2016/01/19/meye...4411-139840365

M.S.6 has been confirmed and M.S. 7 & 8 has been ordered from the same yard.
There will be a lot of floating billboards to be seen on the Norwegian coast in the years to come by the look of it.
