  • The Queen of Baltic ferries approaches the Daughter of the Baltic.

I would say that it's for the 1300'th time ever, or something similar.

    • That is a LOT of great images from on board and off the different ships exteriors.

Lucky you, having ships like this nearly at your doorstep.

      Thanks so much for sharing!

      • I like such mini cruises on ferries. It is very comfortable, you have the complete feeling of being on a ship and crossing the seas, but together with mostly normal people - far away from the entertainment machinery of a cruise-ship. This will be my kind of alternative, when Hurtigruten will get too touristic. Thank you very much for such reports, Tommi.

          The arcade of the Gabriella.

Maximize sales - skippers pipes on all elevator doors!

This area of restaurants will be refurbished later this spring.

Quite much like the Amorella and Isabelle.

          The buffet.

                    • Mariehamn is always a melting pot of ferries.

Rosella laid up for renovations during january.

                      Gabriella outbound.

The daily interpretation of "Kobba Klintar".

Normally you don't find Gabriella here during daytime. She's replacing Viking Grace and Amorella during their dockings.

                      • The night club seems to be a bit of a yawn this time of year.

Nice report and such a lot of wonderful pictures! For sure that has been an amazing experience. Did you do it as a weekend trip, because the sip was not usual on this route?

Hi, it was a Sunday excursion!
Alarm clock at 04:30, bus at 05:30 to the terminal, ferry to Mariehamn, change of ships and back in Strängnäs at 21:00. You can get far away from home during one day!
It wasn't amazing at all, but sure a very nice trip with a friend. Too much beer for a Sunday...
The cruise was as expensive as it can be...about 1€. The bus costed 2 x 10 €. I think that we were about 300 pax on board.

                          • Great images, Tommi!

One day - perhaps next summer - I will return to Stockholm and make an extra effort to take a cruise on one of these ferries.
