I have just spent 3 days without a mobile phone, camera and computer, playing all sorts of silly games to hide the fact that we were discharging a Submarine from a Heavy Lift Carrier.

In yesterdays Straits Times there was an article about the arrival of RSS Archer, with a nice picture of the same Submarine while alongside at Changi Naval Base:

Even worse, when I got home my modem had packed up and it took two days to get a replacement.

That must have been a cold - and wet - experience, standing guard on the deck as she came in.

But I bet, you had a great cover while doing these fine images...

I finally found what the object is sticking down between the hulls of the catamaran aircraft carrier. It's for ride control to stabilize the ship in pitch with a airfoil shaped wing below the water's surface.

.... why would the F221 have their gigantic LED flatscreen TV in the thing that looks like a funnel....

Here is the Turkish Navy playing in the Dardanelles.

This one was not out on exercises but we happened to be passing by.

This thread has gotten a bit slow so I'm skipping a bit ahead to Bulgaria and their navy.

US Navy Surveillance ship at Keppel Singmarine Yard today:

This type of spy ships are seen regularly at this yard as they are operating in the region and visit the yard for maintenance and repairs quite frequently.

An interesting looking surveillance ship so I had to find more info.: http://www.navy.mil/navydata/fact_di...0&tid=600&ct=4 She's designed to pull sonar arrays at slow speed in high latitudes. Apparently looking for tuna and other high value marine life.
