Pay attention to 29. May 2018.
Queen Victoria is scheduled (and has been so for quite some time) to be in Kristiansund that day, from 08:00 to 18:00 local time. Double booking...?

Duly noted in my calendar - now, I just hope that it is a day-off from work!

Big ships visit Aalesund on a regular basis, but this one will set a record:

That must be a great day to visit Ålesund - I think she is also scheduled to come to Trondheim as well. I hope so - and that it's on a day where I'm not working on the ferry or in SE Asia.

Is she that special?? Isn't this just a bigger version of the ugly "boxes" we are used to see here?

When "counting" big cruise ships, I always goes by length and width. The "ordinary" citizen don't care about tonnages, they only see size.

Friends just returned from a cruise on a MSC ship. They reported to have been on a fairground. In my opinion something like this could also be land based. It is better for the environment and the inhabitants of the harbours which are visited by such an amusement park. The owners have no interest to inspire their passengers in exploring new places, countries and destinations. They only care about the bill after getting back the cruise card.

Sadly, I believe this is actually very true for many operators.

The first cruise ship in Aalesund 2018 was Black Watch on the first day of 2018:

Unfortunately I was not in town to see it, or take any pictures of my own.

Nice list from Trondheim - no RCCL and no Disney this year... not even QM2...

Time to dust of the wings of the C-Gull perhaps... (?)

                    Aalesund Cruise list 2018:
                    http://www.alesund.havn.no/no/Havna/...CruiseExpected
Starting in Febr. and ending in Oct.

BTW; Both RCL and Cunard is on the list.

One interesting observation; it appears that Saga Pearl II MAY have a turn-around in Aalesund 26. Febr.:
Saga Pearl II 26.02.2018 08:00 26.02.2018 18:00 Alta Svartisen (cruise)
                    Saga Pearl II 13.03.2018 08:00 13.03.2018 17:00 Narvik Flåm
In that case I believe that will be a first for a Cruise ship of this size.

Doesn't seem to quite tie up with the holiday that Saga (*** and games for the aged) are selling from this end ...

and the one after that is: https://travel.saga.co.uk/cruises/oc...?boardbasis=FB

The Saga Pearl II is due here in a few days. then we'll see who is right, Aalesund Havn or Saga Travel. (Sorry, not betting odds)
