Hope the weather doesn't keep her away from Trondheim next week - though, I'll be stationed at Kvithylla Rissa Shipyard for the majority of the week.

Thanks for the update - as far as I know, she never came to Trondheim as planned.

I was way to busy at Rissa Yards to even look for her anyway.

This was the last call for "Magellan" in Tromsø for the season 2017.Here she is sailing out from Breivika harbor this evening.
Next port of call is Trondheim on thursday this week.

Really nice photo of the old-Carnival ship.... pardon my French, but "dang" she smokes a lot! Those engines are definitely not optimised and would never be allowed in Alaskan waters or ports. Neither should these kind of ships be allowed in Norway either.

If we let out that much smoke in Miami during the 90's, USCG would be on the gangway pretty fast with a hefty fine.

WOW .... that is just stunning.

Really love the way the ship looks and the mood of the lights on board her. That funnel colour looks really astonishing with that sky in the background! Beautiful!

The first photo really caught my attention this morning, and although I am certainly in agreement with the views on the attractiveness of the ship's design, that wasn't what first grabbed me.
This view of the floating 'iceberg' sculpture immediately made be think of wherrygirl's lovely photo of her dark-sailed ship on its sea of sea-green pebbles - like the Oslo artwork with the colours reversed! See this link to her photo: http://www.captainsvoyage-forum.com/...333#post208333

Is that the Aurora in Oslo?

I like this ship... she is well balanced with her sloping stern and proportional bow-section. Look at ships like the Norwegian Epic with hardly now bow at all.

She reminds me of the old Canberra - and as far as I remember, this ship was built with ideas from the Canberra.

bLOG update re Jan-4 "The 2017 cruise season finale"

You end with the words “these actually turned out satisfactorily - at least for me. Phew! …what modesty and understatement Captain!
I have already described one of the photos as "An outstanding image to end a year of superb ship photography". And now, after reading this and seeing all the extra 'bonus images', I am in awe of your ability to fly your c-gull wings and capture night images of such superb quality - and especially so in such circumstances.

PS - I'd choose my Favourite Pakarang Photo of the Year from amongst these, but now I am spoiled for choice! I might therefore have to declare a photo you took with my mobile phone as a Favourite! although I'm not sure if you'll have even seen it yet in your CVF messages, let alone like it.
Please Captain, may I be allowed to seek your gracious permission to post it in my Thailand thread (despite the unflattering lighting of an airport arrivals hall! )?

hahahahaha.... yes, saw it, thank you! Can't believe how stressed out I was though - so much to do, and so little time to do it.

Go ahead, you may off course share it on CVF in your thread.

Thank you so much for the comments and opinion.
