Amazing that such a complex vessel can actually be built in a tiny village in a tiny fjord:

Not sure if this is the exact system we are getting, but it gives an idea of this system is meant to work:

We are getting closer to December 31st 2018, and as it appears right now, I will sign off K for the very last time just in time for Christmas.

Well, time passes and new things enters the everyday life.

Yes, indeed, Tommi, time flies - and times are always evolving and changing. Which in fact is a very good thing too.

Not me, but my colleague. I was not far away, but on another ferry that day.

She is in for annual repairs, maintenance and service. She is due to set sail for Trondheim on Thursday next week, once everything is completed.

With only two more shift-periods left to serve on the K, it's almost time to bid a sad farewell to the ship I traveled all the way to Poland to bring home.

It's nearly 8 years ago! Can't believe it was nearly 8 years since we sailed in to Molde on a cold, dark winter night and met up with a handful CV-family members. 8 years!

Here are some images taken last year, when, for the first time, we spent the whole night tied up at Rørvik. The reason was that they were doing some dredging and using TNT to blow up some rocks over there.

...and today (25th), right now, she's within sight of Tresfjord and Glutra!

And last night, I was back on board for a night shift - and I "broke" the K.

She suffered some technical problems today, and needed some repairs in order to safely operate within the norms of good seamanship.

Do you see all those images I have posted of the K up through the years, with a beautiful blue hull.

You won't see pictures like that any longer.

She is now dressed in black.

And as you know, when you go black, you never paint blue.

And BTW.... did you remember that there is a GOOD reason to have an extra piece of CAKE today: K has been a F1-vessel for 8 years today! 8 years since her christening.

i personally cake-celebrate the anniversary of her arrival in Norway on the 11th because I got there to greet her! But of course I always remember her christening anniversary too, which in my skyscape image for the 6th November 2010 looked like this:

hahahaha... thank you. But champagne seems to be an overkill for a work-horse ferry.

A glass of cucumber juice would perhaps be more appropriate for K... hahahahaha

                        Here she is, in black.

Personally, I think black suits her way better than blue... and that's strange, because I'm a big fan of blue-hulls....
