What an amazing day it was - in every single way it could be. The weather was fine, the drive was good, and the visit was so much more than my expectations.
Thank you all for the views..! Highly appreciated.

        Re: The World (of ResidenSea)

"The World" was in Tromsø today for the second time this season.
The weather today has been rainy and not the best for photo shooting.
But anyway I took a few shoot of here.

She was at anchor in the south end of Tromsø island awaiting berth space after the northbound "Nordnorge" was sailed from the city this evening.

Tender 1 was taking the passenger in to the pier.

        Best wishes from
        Bengt Domben

The World's second passing of the bridge this year. One month before this on their way to Kristiansund they passed the bridge, headed for Bergen, then turned around outside Skolten and then left again. Where was I? In Oslo! Where was the others? Home and watched this event on AIS. If we just knew

Beautiful photos! It does make me sad though that I do not seen anyone on the balconies as she sails out and I don't know if I see anyone on deck.

Did you all girls and boys see this article from MailOnline about the World and the people who lives on her?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/tr...ear-round.html Would you LIVE on a cruise ship? The luxury vessel with 165 apartments which sails around the world non-stop (but a basic studio will set you back more than $1million)

Some more of the World--- we all heard the story when the Captain said to HM King Harald of Norway: "you may be the king of Norway, but I'm the captain of the world"....

Still a fascinating concept. But we will never know the real cost per year for the residents. But i think they just don't care.

The World came to Aalesund in the afternoon of 28.July, after having made a swing close to the bird rock at Runde and into Tjorvaag (I presume the Captain comes from there??)
Here she is arriving in Hessafjorden:

                            Coming around Slinningsodden:

                            Spending the night:

And the next day alongside at Stornespiren:

She spent two nights here, before proceeding to Geiranger in daylight hours 30. July.
