Yes they are using the boil-off gas for fuel, either for propulsion or for boilers, generators etc.
Some of the newest VLNGs are able to use LNG as main fuel when loaded, HFO when in ballast.
Pure LNG powered units are in the works.
Not directly Shipping but a territorial dispute over Hans Island in the Nares Strait, which separate Ellesmere Island in Canada from Greenland, thus affecting shipping in the area.
