That second image in this post is absolutely WAOW! Very beautful moment in time!

R/S 56 "Olav Ringdal jr." Is a former rescue vessel that was built for Redningsselskapet in 1952 by Kittilsen Trebåtbyggeri.

Schooner was donated by shipowner Olav Ringdal who also wanted it to be named after his son Olav Ringdal jr. who fell during World War II.

The vessel has undergone some changes along the way in his service for Redningsselskapet. In 1972, the main engine changed and in 1973 the deckhouse / wheelhouse changed and decor renewed.

Until 1983 was "Olav Ringdal jr." In service like rescue vessel and rescued 44 people from "certain death", 15 vessels from the total loss, and gave assistance to a total of 592 vessels.

Today is "Olav Ringdal jr." owned by NorthernSea Adventure, and domiciled in Alta, North Norway, where it goes as charter boat.

"Olav Ringdal Jr." north Tromsø strait this morning.

    Best wishes from
    Bengt Domben

Really wonderful shot... love the panning mode of this image as well. These vessels are also some of the prettiest ships to convert into private boats.

That RS vessel has quite interesting lines. Low aft deck.

I guess it could be because it gives easy access to rescue operations and persons retrieval from the fjord. She is no ocean cruiser, but I think she is well suited for the fjord here.

"Olav Ringdal Jr." headed to Tromsø this afternoon.
Whale season is ending soon, so now it's the northern lights that count if weather conditions are good.
Do not look so pretty with rust water on the ship's side that we see here....

I thought this was a wooden vessel, but realize now that she is actually not THAT old.

Rust can be ugly, but thankfully som R&R will give her the former shine back.

At CVF perhaps most known for the boat that helped Nordlys to Ålesund during the fire.

Has Emma Dyvi been in service for 20 years already?

Damn, how fast time flies.... I remember reading about her christening like it was last year!

Awesome to see a RS-veteran - she is a world away from the current fleet, but at least she still "wears" her original colors.

I wonder if the EMMA DYVI was ever sold... she is still listed on secondhand website finn.no as expired listing.
