For over two years we've had the floating storage oiltank NJORD BRAVO moored at Sterkoder yard. The owners needed that time to decide wether to scrap it or maintain it.
They decided to maintain and update, so yesterday it was hauled by tugs to dry dock in Haugesund where the vessel will undergo a two year maintenance program at a cost of over NOK 1,5 billion.

Nice.... glad you got to document that!

My goodness, 1,5 billion is a mighty sum.

I don't know what they can manage to spend NOK 1.5 Bn. on. (???)
This is just a Floating Storage Unit (FSU) Not disconnectable, so no propulsion and minimal with other machinery and equipment.
Unless she will be equipped for a more elaborate role a Floating Production, Offloading & Storage (FPSO) unit. (In which case NOK 1.5 Bn. is peanuts)
                  Working...
