          • Large luxury yachts are regularly seen I Aalesund. It is seldom if ever know who the VIP guests onboard are, or in many cases, who's arriving for a cruise on the fjords.
Here is some I have spotted the last few weeks. First a very large and impressive sail yacht:

The Gene Machine spent a couple of days waiting:

The crew took the change for a cruise of their own with the tender:

            The Pakarang view:

            Port bow view:

            • Can somebody interpret to signs below the name? (Probably something to do with the Genes):

              Stbd. quarter view:

              Suez lights pointing aft??:

Maybe he was here to see where the stones for his replica Stonehenge came from??

You know, I've never really felt the need to build a replica Stonehenge. I can't help feeling it would look better if it had the top on it. We find that many visitors that come to see us are desperate to see Stonehenge, but disappointed when they get there. Avebury is far more impressive to my mind.

              • A smaller version spent several days at anchor on Aspoyvaagen:

                This one was a Brunholmkaia:

An even smaller one at Skansegata:

                • But it is not only expensive toys for Millionaires and Billionaires to call at Aalesund Port. Here are some commercial vessels seen lately, many being regulars.

Holmfoss are here on here regular trade to/from continental European ports / West and North Norwegian ports:

                  Sveafjord is an old regular:

                  Both seen arriving last night.

Ro West is one of the new and sophisticated Live Fish Carriers that is owned and operated from Aalesund, but not seen very often:

Fish Farm service boats are getting very common sights in town:

                  • I didn't know that the Norwegian Fishery Directorate had their own patrol boats. I was of the impression they chartered in boats as needed and when needed to keep an rye on things around the coast.
This one was spotted abt. three weeks ago in Aalesund:

They were joined by this smaller boat, before leaving port:

                            • RV "Oceania" has been on its annual research tour around Svalbard.
She came in early this morning to Tromsø.
After some hours at the dock she left at mid day and set course for Gdansk.
The ship is owned by the Polish Academy of Sciences.
