Wow! That is an incredible photo.

New ships and boats are a common sight in Aalesund.
Here is the latest vessel for Norwegian Coastal Authority (Kystverket) been named "OV Bokfjord" 15/9-16:

She went directly to Longyearbyen for a major oil spill exercise.

The largest Offshore vessel built in Norway, "Normand Maximus" was named at the yard in Brattvaag in July, but delivery was delayed.
Here she is heading for her first job, 22/10-16:

(Via Rotterdam for commissioning of the pipe lay equipment)

Heading into the sunset, probably never to return to Aalesund:

Factory trawler Ramoen arrived from the building yard in Vigo, Spain for a naming ceremony 29/10-16:

This is the fifth vessel with the name Ramoen.

Two Live Fish Carriers were named on the same day 12/11-16. I could only catch one, the Ronja Supporter: http://www.smp.no/naeringsliv/2016/1...ick_articles=3

The other one was the Ro North, but I can only link to smp.no for that one: http://www.smp.no/naeringsliv/2016/1...ick_articles=1

Thanks for the updates Ombugge, really interesting stuff!

Many, many years ago, I actually applied for a job on board this coastal freighter... I ended up declining the job offer:

Ship spotted on the fjord here in Trondheim - a regular visitor sailing in to the paper factory of Norske Skog at Skogn:
