    [Crystal Symphony] At sea.

    [Crystal Symphony] At sea.

This thread has a rather short name but sea days can be really great and very relaxing. Time for officers and crew to take good care of their guests, time for training and meetings and time to do some navigation.

Here is one image from what we can call a nice day at sea, taken from just aft of the funnel.

With best regards from Jan-Olav Storli

And just under the Lido deck with the umbrellas is my FAVORITE place in the whole world...the little covered stern decks with 6 or so lounge chairs and 2 tables with chairs...perfect peace and quiet--and for some reason, no one uses them...it's like my own private little hiding place! I stay out there almost all day long on sea days, tucked in with those wonderful mohair and wool blankets around me. HEAVEN!

Oh, if I had looked at the next photo, I would see a picture of the VERY place!!

Not every day at sea is providing smooth seas and sunshine: some have just sunshine and some rougher seas:

Thanks for the comment - glad you enjoyed the images! Certainly, the sea can be full of contrasts: each day is different but common for them all is their calming effect they have on a man that lives at the sea.

Here is an image taken on a calmer day, from a position just in front of the funnel:

What kind of lens do you use here to get that bowed horizon?

In this image, I used my Canon 15mm Fish Eye lens.

One of my favourite spots out on deck: nearly no guests ever came here (apart from Panama Canal transits):

This would have been a great area to have an enclosed winter garden...
