[Crystal Symphony] Cruising in Norway and other Scandinavian ports.

[Crystal Symphony] Cruising in Norway and other Scandinavian ports.

At our previous board, we started two threads with similar subject:

Crystal Symphony's voyage to Scandinavia: http://captainsvoyage.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=849

Crystal Symphony's voyage to Norway: http://captainsvoyage.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=846

Both threads have been combined into this one, and I hope to be sharing many of my thousands of images from Norway and Scandinavia whilst on Crystal Symphony.

I hope you will all enjoy a little Crystal-time: I know some of our members maybe even more than anyone else

I'm opening these combined new threads with two images taken from the tender in Geiranger as Crystal Symphony had just passed the Seven Sisters Waterfall and made her final turns up to the anchorage in Geiranger.

The date was June 24th 2004:

Bergen is a favorite port for many cruise guests, also for the guests of Crystal Symphony on this cruise to Norway. The image was taken on a typical rainy day in Bergen, July 6th 2005:

The observant of you may spot and be able to name three other cruise ships in this very same image:

Here is a very rare image: a small and very private tender ride I made to Munkholmen outside Trondheim (the ship visible in the background docked at the cruise dock of Trondheim): dated July 1st 2005:

Saint Petersburg is not really in Scandinavia, I know, but is a port which is very common on the itinerary at Scandinavian cruises.

Here is an image taken an early morning in Saint Petersburg with a Celebrity Cruises ship coming up the channel getting ready to dock immediately behind the Crystal Symphony: dated June 30th 2004:

On a photoshoot we did with one of the tenders, I caught this image of the Crystal Symphony steaming passed the Seven Sisters Waterfall inbound to Geiranger on June 24th 2004:

Just moments before the previous image in previous post, I caught this image of MY SHIP coming around the bend while we sat waiting for her in the tender.

In Honningsvaag we docked together with coastal steamer Richard With, the space was very limited and she practically had to dock under our overhanging bow:

I would like to add one comment to this port though: the port must have had one of the friendliest and most helpful port agents I have ever come across in a long while - and I have dealt with many in ports all across the world. Fantastic service, smile and help!

Same day, June 21st 2004, I also hiked up the mountain side to get some good shots of the port and my ship. The quick but strenuous hike was well wort the effort:
