Crystal Cruises - Your Home Away from Home [HQ]

Have you all seen this new PR video from Crystal Cruises?

    http://www.facebook.com/video/video....9161138&ref=mf

What strikes me the most with this new video is that they seem to be trying to direct some interest to younger crowds.

What strikes me the most is the fact that in a 12 minutes video you can see only for a few seconds, that you are on a ship and travel over the sea. This seems to be pushed totally in the background. All what is shown is eating, relaxing and casino amusement. O.K. and some spa for the younger ones. Do i need a ship for that???

Well, Ralf--remember this video is marketed toward Americans, who have to be entertained 24/7/365. We are a nation of people who have trouble sitting quietly and enjoying views......

That being said, I think you would love sitting out on my "back porch" (aka, the stern deck) watching the world go by, stretched out on a chaise lounge wrapped up in a soft mohair lap blanket.... and I think you would be QUITE interested in the lecturers Crystal has aboard...I've heard astronomer Dr. Norman Caisse, Steve Forbes, historian Jay Wolff, US Senator Phil Gramm, etc etc.....

(and I must say that for ultimate peace and quiet, I still want to do one of "your" canal barge weeks!!!!!!)

I will remind you, Lady E. We are now fixing our plans for next year and houseboat is one of the options...
I don't think, i would spend much time on your back porch. You know, me is standing always on the bridge wing, watching out, trying to understand the sea signs, jumping inside to check the position on the radar and on the sea chart, jumping outside again, watching the mooring in the ports and the leading activities and so on. It is also entertainment 27/7/365, believe me!!!
Can you check next time if the Crystal library contains "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy"?? I am more that type of reader...

Anyone seen these 38 fabulous images from Crystal Symphony?

She looks astonishing - even more so than before. A well done upgrade of most areas on board.

Nice movies. I realise more and more, how important this family was for you. Please understand that i won't open a YouTube account just to post comments there. I have to control the number of accounts quite severe. I am mixing up passwords, account names and what ever! I even struggle, if i should keep my facebook account! But if you set your links in the froum, i will be glad to comment it here.

I will off course share the videos here as well: as a special treat to our CV family.

Yes, as you say Ralf, this family I had at Crystal was indeed very special to me. We lived together, we ate together, we played together and we sailed together: and off course, occasionally, we also worked together.

I do have a lot more videos on my hard drive: and time permitting, I might share more of them.

Re: Crystal Cruises - Your Home Away from Home

Crystal Serenity is now "home away from home" for two extra passengers tonight, as they were rescued last night.

This is not Økland's first rescue.... I'll see if I can find the video of us rescuing Ricardo Dinitz in the Atlantic, when his sailboat sprung a huge leak and he was forced to abandon ship.
